Facilitation: How does it work?
Each facilitation is organized as follow:
1. Before the event:
Main objective: Ensure that the intentions are clear and create the conditions for a successful collaboration among stakeholders
- The facilitator meets with the requester and, if possible and needed, with the other stakeholders to understand the objective and learn about the team, the working environment and the logistic aspects.
- Those discussions enable the facilitator to develop the relevant process which will best serve the request.
- A detailed proposal is handed over to the requester for approval
2. During the event
Main objective: To ensure an efficient participatory process
- The objective and scenario are discussed and implemented with the participants.
- The work produced by the participants (graphic illustrations, summary tables, metaplan, etc) are gathered by the facilitator.
3. After the event
Main objective: To ensure that the work produced is transformed into actions.
- Objectives, scenarios, findings, conclusion and recommendations from participants are summarized in a final report and send to the requester for action.
- Follow-up actions discussed during the preparation phase are put into place
